Those who were at the retreat saw me working on this quilt for my great nephew who was to graduate from UNC-Chapel Hill.
It was from African fabrics he purchased while there on an educational trip in the Spring of 2007. The fabrics were so diverse, I had the attendees help me decide which fabric row should go where.
They did good. I finished it, had it quilted with musical staffs and
notes, because he has always loved to sing and participated in many
theatricals.
Thank you QWS for helping me get this done on time.

These are pictures of two double-sided t-shirt quilts I made. I
used iron-on interfacing for the t-shirts, and a very thin batting. I combined some shirts and I cut some designs small and used them in the borders. I also added machine embroidery & personalization and made matching pillow cases and pillows. I quilted with Sulky 30 wt blendables in colors that went with the quilts but were subtle enough not to obstruct the t-shirt designs.

I made this colorful quilt for our 8-year old granddaughter Nina whose favorite color is purple. Each of 12 pinwheel blocks was hand appliqued with 16 curved and round pieces. Each block is surrounded by sashing made from 12 different colorful narrow strips of fabrics that read as solid.

"Once Upon a Time" is a quilt based on a pattern from the book "Once Upon a Quilt".
The castle is made
of different kinds of stone fabric. The hills and village are an original idea I added to the quilt. It is raw edge applique with an overlay of bridal illusion. The illusion allowed me to machine quilt without the foot getting caught in the raw edges.

" Black Beauty" is a nine patch quilt using noodle strips from a swap I participated in. A noodle is a 2 1/2" strip. The quilt is heavily machine quilted using a varigated purple/blue Sulky Rayon thread. I used a paper marking technique to quilt the designs.

My cat quilt is made from a pattern by Robbie Joy Eklow, who writes a column for Quilting Arts magazine.
It was started in a class with her in 2007. The fabric used in the quilt was left over from cat quilts I made my sisters, plus some new fabric.
It measures 46" x 47".

The Father Christmas wall hanging is based on
a design by Anthony Jones who taught this class at Quilted Sampler back in 2002 or 2003. The border, quilting and embellishment is my work. The top sat in my UFO bin until October 2007. Needless to say, my fingers and sewing machine were flying!!

I
made this for my daughter-in-law Teresa
for Christmas '07. It is flannel on both sides and has a fairly heavy batting because
Teresa is always cold. I figured this would keep her and Charlie nice and toasty.
Fun Fast & Easy.
